Our world is full of tools for the taking. Tools that can be used to enhance and make whole our sometimes-scattered human condition. I was fortunate in my journey, on my path, to encounter a teaching that changed my life to the point of my being able to own my own outcomes. When I took responsibility for my fate, and went through a metamorphosis from ‘victim’ to self-determining, I also took on a level of freedom unknown to me until that time.
Colin Tipping, author of Radical Forgiveness and Radical Manifestation (it’s only theory until it manifests) helped ‘coach’ me to take charge and change my life. The work was… radical. It was a work of self-empowerment. I felt then, and still do, that everyone could use a guide, and a set of complementary tools. Once applied, the skilled technician and worker – you – can make miraculous changes. Along with everything else I’d learned, or unlearned, my willingness to forgive myself and others – and the startling revelation that the very need for forgiving was unnecessary – allowed me to manifest significant and positive personal change. It created in me an unwavering desire to help others. In 2007, I became a Certified Coach of the Institute of Radical Forgiveness. Ever since, I’ve looked forward. And yet: my present interest isn’t about my story. It’s about yours.
Life does not need to be about: “you make me feel _______.” It’s about: “I feel _______.”
We’re responsible for what comes our way. I know, it’s hard to swallow. What had shown up in my life was… my doing. This did not make sense to me at first. I could not bring myself to accept that my ‘problems’ were indeed ‘mine’. But then it became radically and abundantly clear that this hard truth was indeed the truth. I accepted it, and in doing so, was able to repurpose and reframe my life.
You can make your situation work for you. You can find peace in the world you’ve created. And finding that peace will allow you to move on. To move forward with a feeling of radical well-being.
